The following ministries/programs fall under the responsibilties of the Education department.
Preschool
Morning and afternoon classes either 2 or 3 times a week.
Sunchildren Preschool is a Christian based preschool for 3 and 4 year olds, that meets downstairs in the church. If you would like more information please contact the church (604-939-6136).
Sunbeams
Offered during the 9:15am Sunday service, the Sunbeams Program is for children ages 3 - 5 on the lower level.
During the 11:00am service, children ages 3—6 meet downstairs in the preschool area.
Kid's church clubhouse
Sunday morning, 9:15am: A Kid's church program is offered for children in grades 1 - 6 in the upstairs hall.
This is an exciting environment where kids can encounter Jesus. Join us for a time of music, stories, drama and fun as we explore how God is at work in our lives! Small Group Leaders build a relationship with the kids through discussion, hands on activities and prayer.

Youth ministries
For grades 7 - 12, Sunday morning and Friday night.
- Sunday morning (11:00am): Grades 7, 8 meet downstairs in the Multipurpose Room.
High School meet upstairs in the Fireside Room - Friday evening Grades 7-8 meet from 7:30-9:30pm This is where we want youth to engage in some whacky games and activities, be challenged with dynamic devotionals and stay connected with their friends and leaders in a relaxed environment and enjoy plenty of “hang time”.
Grades 9-12 meet every Friday 7:30-11pm (yes, 11pm) At 9:30pm, we switch gears for the older students to be in a relaxed environment to enjoy “hang time” with friends and participate in some extra activities, such as Silver Screen Café, where we watch a movie together and discuss its message.

Young adults
Are you 20-something to 30-something and interested in connecting with other Young Adults? or are you interested in a relevant Bible Study geared especially for people our age? Check out our bulletin board in the foyer for more info on our monthly events!!

Two small groups meet Monday Evenings, 7:30pm.
Home bible studies
Bible studies are a very important part of spiritual life in Coquitlam Presbyterian Church. They provide opportunities for a deeper knowledge of the Bible, real Christian fellowship, and a training ground for leadership. These groups meet at different times, on different days and in different places (some are in homes; others in the church). Some are led by one person while others rotate the leadership. Some meet every week, others meet biweekly. Some of the groups which meet in the church and are open for drop-in are listed below.
Join a group, grow in your faith, learn your gifts and get to know others on a more personal basis. Study Groups guide available at the Welcome Centre.
- Sunday morning: This group is open to everyone and meets Sunday mornings in the Fireside Room from 9:15 - 10:15 a.m. Several people who belong to a home Bible study group also enjoy participating in this study led by Cedric Wing. Feel free to drop in anytime.
- Monday morning women's bible study: Two groups of women meet weekly for 60-90 minutes on Monday mornings starting at 10:00 am in the church. These small informal groups use study material designed to help encourage people to discover, understand, and apply biblical truth to everyday living. The Friendship Bible Coffees studies are designed for people with different backgrounds and needs. One group is led by Inez Dijkstra and meets in the Fireside Room. The other group is led by Marie Popham and meets in the Upper Hall (across from the Fireside Room).
- Thursday morning women's bible study: This group is for women of all ages and meets every second Thursday morning from 9:30 - 11:00 am. Come and enjoy a time of study, prayer and fellowship with us. Excellent childcare is provided.
- Thursday evening bible study: This group is for men and women of all ages. The group meets every second Thursday evening from 7:30 - 9:30 pm in the Fireside Room at the church. Feel free to drop in and join this group at any time.
Library
Vist our online library. This ministry provides you and your family access to today’s best Christian books, videos and audio tapes as well as Christian music on tape and CDs. Christian authors for all ages inspire, educate and enlighten. Browse in your church library and enjoy a closer walk with God If you have an interest in books, or are a voracious reader and feel that you could help the Library in any way, or simply want to recommend an author or book, please contact us.
Pastor's prayer partners
Various people meet with the pastor shortly before the services in order to pray.
Prayer ministries
There are various prayer ministries throughout the church.
- Prayer chain: This is a group of people who have committed to pray daily for any requests that are brought to them. If you know of someone facing surgery, personal crisis or in need of special prayer, contact the prayer chain. You can also join this group and become the newest link
- Sunday morning prayer time: Takes place immediately following the service for those who request special prayer time
- Prayer groups: The prayer groups meet regularly, to lift up the needs of the church, individual requests from members and our leaders in government, the church and community. Please come and join us, every Saturday at 8:00am and/or every Tuesday at 9:30am.
Retreats
Various groups are able to enjoy retreats throughout the year.
Women's ministries
There are various women's groups that meet at various times throughout the church.
- Women Connecting With Women: A unique Bible study for women featuring Beth Moore - ‘Breaking Free - Making Liberty in Christ a Reality in Life’. Come join in a 10 week journey with other women where you can connect and develop relationships, through this amazing, life growing study. We also have two exciting fun social days planned.

- Ladies friendship group: This is a group of ladies who serve the church in a variety of ways. They help prepare and serve special meals such as Presbytery suppers and will also cater refreshments in the church following a wedding or funeral. Requests may be made to the group through our minister
