The following ministries/programs fall under the responsibilties of the Worship and Planning department.
Adult Choir:
Practice at the church, Thursday nights, 7:30-9:00pm. This is for young adults and up.
Through leading in worship and the singing of an anthem each Sunday at the 11:00am service, the choir provides a powerful ministry within the church. If you are interested in becoming involved, please speak with our worship director.
Kidz Khoir
Practice at the church, Wednesday evenings 6:30 - 7:30pm. For boys and girls, grades one and up.
The Kidz Khoir participate in our Christmas musicale, their own Spring musical, and occasionally help lead worship on Sunday morning. If your kids love to sing, Kidz Khoir is for them!
Praise Team
Practise at the church, Wednesdays, 7:30 - 9:00pm.
Our Praise Team leads the congregation in Sunday morning worship. Our singers and musicians are on a rotating schedule so your involvement can be very flexible. If you have a heart for worship and would like to be involved please contact our worship director.
Sound Team
Meet at the church, Wednesday, 7:30 - 8:30pm
Working with a multichannel sound board and computer powered projector, this group enables all to hear and see. Those working in audio video are called upon heavily during the Christmas musicale. If you have an interest in 'sight and sound' and would like to serve in this area please contact the church.
Special Worship Events
From time to time we have special worship services that incorporate an orchestral band and praise singers to lead in services. If you have a heart for the Lord and are gifted in music, you would enjoy this group.
Theatre Arts
Our Theatre Arts group meet on Tuesday evenings in the Church Sanctuary to practice drama and skit routines. This group participates on a regular basis in the church worship service. For those interested in drama, this group is for you!
Worship Services
Be sure to visit the Welcome Centre in the foyer if you have any questions about the ministries of Coquitlam Presbyterian Church (CPC).
Our 9:15 service has a more contemporary worship style. Led by the worship director and the Praise Team.
Our 11:00 service is more traditional in style with some contemporary style incorporated. The Praise Team and Adult Choir contribute.
NOTE: THERE ARE SOME TIMES WHEN THERE IS ONLY ONE SERVICE HELD AT 10AM. THIS IS OFTEN NEAR CHRISTMAS AND DURING THE SUMMER MONTHS. PLEASE CHECK THE TIME POSTED ON THE HOME PAGE.
DURING THE SERVICE
The Nursery is available for infants to 3 year olds, upstairs during both services. Volunteers staff the Nursery.
At the 9:15 service:There is a 'Sunbeams' program for ages 3 - 5 downstairs in the pre-school room. 'Kid's Church' is available for Grades 1 - 6 in the upstairs hall. There is also an adult bible class upstairs in the fireside room.
At the 11:00 service: Children ages 3 - 6 meet downstairs in the preschool area. Grades 7 & 8 meet downstairs in the multipurpose room. High School students meet upstairs in the fireside room.
COMMUNION SERVICES
Our church family gathers several times throughout the year to celebrate communion together. Communion is simply our way of remembering what Jesus has done for us on the cross. We take time to eat and drink together in order to remember the sacrifice of Jesus and to celebrate the reality that, through trusting in Him as our Lord and Saviour, we find complete forgiveness from our sin and the presence of His Spirit to empower us to live lives that honour Him.
CD MINISTRY
Weekly sermons are available here online (see above right panel). The message is available online immediately following the second service (They are posted by 12noon on the Sunday). However, if you do not have regular access to a computer/internet and require a copy of the sermon, they are available on CD. To request a copy on CD, just fill out a CD Request Form at the Welcome Centre in the church. Look for the CD in your mailbox the next week or pick it up at the Welcome Centre. The CDs are provided free of charge as a ministry of the church and do not need to be returned.
